All boys interested in running track this year need to see Coach Segura in C 107 or the field house by Friday.

Attention juniors and seniors!! If you are a senior and have not taken the SAT, you really need to register for the March 1 st test. Juniors should begin taking the test now for college admission for next year.   It will be given on the PN-G campus but you must register online at www.collegeboard.com or come by the counseling office for a registration packet.  The regular cost is $43.  Late registration begins Feb 7 th and the cost will go up to $65.  The next testing date will be May 3 rd .

The Performing Arts Department will be presenting Disney's “High School Musical” this week. Performances will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets will be $8 for adults, $5 for students, and $3 for children 10 years of age and younger.

Auditions for the UIL One-Act Play, “Passion, Poison, and Petrification” will be held Monday and Tuesday, February 4 th and 5 th , after school in the Black Box. Those wishing to audition should have a prepared monologue about one minute in length, preferable in a British accent. This year's Zone Competition will take place on March 17 th . If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Barclay in the Black Box.

Seniors: a suggestion box for senior song, flower, motto, and colors will be in the cafeteria this week. Please place your suggestion in the box during lunches.

There will be a short Criminal Justice Club meeting today immediately after school to sign up for contest.  This is the deadline to sign up, so see Mrs. Cormier before the meeting if you are unable to attend.

Attention students and teachers: Members of the Journalism staff will be getting students out of classes at 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in order to take pictures for the yearbook. Students whose pictures are needed should have received a note. This will only take a few minutes and students should be back in classrooms by 8 a.m. We appreciate your help and cooperation in this matter.

Key Club members that are interested in running for an officer position for the 2008-2009 school year, please pick up your application at Mrs. Singleton's room C-109 before February 12.  Elections will be held at the Feb. 12 th meeting.

This is Energy Awareness Week. Dress up days is as follows: Wednesday – Conserve Oil & Natural Gas, wear red; Thursday – Conserve Natural Resources, wear green, and Friday – Recycle, wear purple and white. Register for prizes each day in B113 when wearing the designated color.

Class Favorite and King & Queen Petitions are available in the Student Activities Office. They must be returned by 3:15 on Wednesday, January 30 th

All Students interested in entering the 2008 Coca-Cola “Share the Dream” Essay Contest may pick up information and application forms in the counselors' office.  The theme will be “Who speaks for or inspires your generation and what are they saying? If you think no one does, what needs to be said?”  Deadline for submission of essays is no later than March 5, 2008. Prizes range from $500-$2500 and personal computers.

Key Club has adopted a platoon of 30 U.S. Marines and is collecting items to put in care packages for the Platoon.  If you would like to participate, you can drop your items by Room C109 before or after school.  The list of items that can be sent is posted on the door to room C109 and in every classroom on campus. Care packages will be sent until April. Remember “One Care Package Can Make a World of Difference” to the men and women fighting for our country.

The Discover Scholarship is available to eligible juniors. Apply on line at www.scholarshipadministrators.net or come by the counselors' office for a paper application. The deadline is this Thursday.

The PNG Powerlifting team won the Westbrook meet on Saturday. Josh C and Josh W won 1 st place in their weight class. Josh W was named Outstanding Lifter and Josh C benched a school record 410 pounds. Blake B, Mikey P, and Ryan M finished 2 nd . Jason M and Tyler G placed 3 rd . Kevin A placed 4 th , and Stephen S placed 5 th .

Results from the UIL Academic meet at LCM are as follows: PNG finished in 3 rd place as a team; Current Issues & Events: Keegan J 2 nd place, 2 nd place team; Colt S 5 th place, 2 nd place team; Will F 2 nd place team.
