Congratulations to the Energy Week drawing winners: Students – Ji Y, Maryam S, Ben N, Elizabeth T, and Kashia M. Teachers and Staff – Mrs. Daigrepont, Mrs. Brittain, and Mrs. Richard. Winners may pick up their Starbucks gift card in room B113.

PNG will present its royal court at the coronation to be held Thursday, February 14 th at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

All students who have signed up for the June 2008 tour of the British Isles need to meet with Mrs. Hancock and Mrs. Burkle in room B106 Thursday, Feb. 14 at 3:00 p.m. for a brief, but very important, meeting. Any student who has not signed up but would be interested in doing so should attend as well.

Attention all students wanting to join BPA and the Business Co-Op for next year and want to turn in the forms or pick up one:   Ms. Amsden's room has changed to D-101. 

Key Club is hosting a book drive that will run through Thursday, February 28 th . Please bring books suitable for children ages 1-12 to Mrs. Singleton's room C 109.

Seniors: there are several scholarships that are not in the latest newsletter. Please come by the counselor's office to pickup an application if you are interested in one of the following scholarships: The C. W. Conn Memorial Scholarship, The Texas Telephone Association Scholarship, the Texas State Bank Scholarship, or the Robert C. Byrd Scholarship.

Seniors:  Please provide the counselors' office with any scholarship you accept or are offered as soon as possible.  Also, if you have attended any special summer workshops or forums in high school, such as National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine, NASA High School Aerospace Scholars Workshop, etc., etc. This information will be needed for the awards program in May.  The deadline to provide this information will be April 25, 2008.

Student Council is sponsoring a Valentine and Heart Sale. These will be sold during lunches and in B113. To have a valentine delivered, please know the person's 1 st and 5 th period class. Cards and hearts are $1.00.

Twirp Week begins Thursday, February 14 th . Events are as follows: Feb 14 th – Coronation & Chili's; Feb 15 th – Soccer vs. Nederland & Starbucks; Feb 16 th – Dinner & Movie; Feb 17 th – Lady's Choice; Feb 18 th – Board games & Grilling; Feb 19 th – Baseball & Breakfast food; and Feb 20 th – Sports Connection & Dessert.

Attention juniors and seniors!! If you are a senior and have not taken the SAT, you really need to register for the March 1 st to be given on the PN-G campus. You must register online at www.collegeboard.com or come by the counseling office for a registration packet.  The regular cost is $43.  Late registration begins Feb 7 th and the cost will go up to $65.  The next testing date will be May 3 rd .

All Students interested in entering the 2008 Coca-Cola “Share the Dream” Essay Contest may pick up information and application forms in the counselors' office.  The theme will be “Who speaks for or inspires your generation and what are they saying? If you think no one does, what needs to be said?”  Deadline for submission of essays is no later than March 5, 2008. Prizes range from $500-$2500 and personal computers.

Key Club has adopted a platoon of 30 U.S. Marines and is collecting items to put in care packages for the Platoon.  If you would like to participate, you can drop your items by Room C109 before or after school. 

Congratulations to the following students who received a gold medal that certified them for state choir contest: Heather R, Kyle D, Thompson P, Taylor T, Alex R, Doug B, Samantha P, Jessica T, Brad L, Elissa M, Lindsay B, Melody J, Jodie A, Jared A, Alex W, Andrew B, Starr B, Caleb W, and Michael B. The Indian Singers also received a first division in Open Class.
