The following football players have been named to the All-District Team: First team offense - Jake H, Zeke S, and Jerin S; First team defense – Clint B, Jody M, Ben L, and Brett D; Second team offense – Matt J, and Josh C; Second team defense – Zeke S, Kaleb W, Hagan C, and Kenneth T. PN-G's Coach Matt Burnett was named the District 22-4A Coach of the Year.
Softball tryouts are scheduled for Monday, January 21 st at 3:30 at the softball field. Any girl interested in trying out for softball needs to get a physical form from Coach Fontenot, Coach Fesco, or Coach Tyler.
Key Club will be Christmas caroling this evening from 6 – 8 p.m. If you have not signed up, please do so. We will meet in the LGi parking lot at 5:45.
Any girls who were on the varsity track team last year need to meet in the competition gym after school today for a team picture.

PNG Primetime highlights will be on sale all this week in the cafeteria. DVDs are $25 each. Primetime would like to thank anyone purchasing a DVD for your support. They are hoping to purchase a professional quality video camera.
There will be a Thespian meeting on Thursday at 7 a.m. in the Black Box. Attendance is mandatory.
The Discover Scholarship is available to eligible juniors. Apply on line at www.scholarshipadministrators.net or come by the counselors' office for a paper application. The deadline is January 31, 2008.
We will be having a Christmas Spirit Day on Friday, December 21. Everyone is encouraged to wear their best Christmas shirt and Santa hat for the day.
If you took the PSAT in October, and did not pick up your results today, you may pick them up in the counselor's office beginning Thursday.
Members of the DECA chapter will be collecting any pennies, nickels or dimes that you care to donate to MDA during the lunch periods for the next 5 Fridays.
All students who may be interested in attending the George Washington University Summer Scholars Pre-College Program may pick up information in the counselors' office. There is a 10-day mini course for grades 9 – 11 from June 22 – July 2, 2008 and a 6-week Pre-College Program for Rising Seniors from July 6 – August 15, 2008.
OIA will be conducting a food drive to feed 86 families through the Community Prayer Outreach Program. All students are asked to bring canned goods to the 1 st or 5 th period teachers from now until December 18 th .
HOSA students will be selling ornaments to help abused and neglected children in Jefferson County . Students and teachers may purchase ornaments for 25 cents each or make a donation towards Child Protective Services (CPS).
Juniors & Seniors: Texas A & M University sponsors the Student Leaders of Tomorrow Conference to be held February 15 th – 17 th . High school juniors and seniors travel to Texas A & M to gain the necessary experience to enrich their leadership skills through prominent speakers and participation in exciting programs as well as a first-hand experience at college life. To apply, come by the counselors ' office and pick up a flyer.
Beginning January 11, 2008, all vehicles parked on school property will display an appropriate hang tag. Hang tags may be purchased for $2 in the CATE office located next to the cafeteria. You must attach a copy of your driver's license and proof of insurance to your application before a hang tag will be issued. Please see your student handbook and code of conduct for penalties related to parking violations.
Any student wishing to purchase a Team Esquivel T shirt can come by C105 to purchase one. The cost is $15.
Skills USA students will be collecting canned goods and spare change to prepare boxes of food for needy families. The class that collects the most food by December 18 th will be rewarded with a breakfast pizza party after Christmas break.
